The Uccello Kettle Inventor
Andy DePetra, originally from Italy, came to Australia at a young age. Andy’s a family man who has always had a passion for innovation and creation.
Early on in Perth, Australia, Andy set up his very own cleaning business where one of his first inventions. The vertical blind cleaner which had him well on his way to become a successful businessman.
Italian Influence
Andy may have lived in Australia all is adult life, but he never forgot his Italian roots.
Andy has always had a deep love of the Italian café society and good Italian coffee. A love which he brought with him to Australia.
It wasn’t until 2011 that Andy was diagnosed with Arthritis. He began to find it more and more difficult to carry out everyday tasks he enjoyed like making his morning coffee.
It was because of the difficulty he had using the average kettle that turned Andy’s head. He wanted to combine function with style in order to develop a kettle that had never been seen before.
Function and design
The Uccello Kettle was born! It was important to Andy that in every stage of development, everyone remember who it was they were making the kettle for.
A kettle that did not cause any unwanted pressure and weight on the user while still helping them to maintain independence in their own kitchen.
With the Uccello Kettle’s fluid ”tilt-to-pour” action, the kettle tilts within the base/cradle to send hot boiling water in your cup without causing any unnecessary pressure.
The Uccello Kettle has a uniquely designed pendulum arc of forwarding motion and it remarkably resembles a small bird which in Italian means – Uccello.
